Dayton Housing Acquires Land From Abel Family

Dayton Housing Named in Memory of Dr. G.V. Taylor, Sr.

On  Sunday, July 31,1966, the brand new Dayton Housing Authority held a ribbon cutting and open house for the 50 new apartment units that were built on property in south Dayton that was formerly owned by the Abel family. The project, which began in the planning stages back in 1964, has 50 units along with a management office and maintenance building were completed at a cost of $621,000.
