Today, I want to remember and honor a beautiful young woman named Debra Crowe McArthur.
Debra was a new bride and the mother of a baby daughter, Tenika Mason. Tragically, on April 19, 1976, Debra lost her life in a car accident while she was on her way to school. She was only seventeen years old.
Because Tenika was just a baby when her mother passed away, she never had the opportunity to truly know her or share the precious memories that every daughter deserves to have with her mother. She has come to know Debra through photographs, family stories, and the love her mother left behind.
Tenika wants her mother to be remembered—not simply as a name and two dates, but as a beautiful young woman, a daughter, a new bride, and a loving mother whose life ended far too soon.
I am sharing Debra’s photograph and story today so that her beautiful face and memory will continue to live on. Although her time on this earth was brief, she will always be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered by her daughter, family and friends.

Shared in loving memory for her daughter,
Tenika Mason
