I am certain many of us have memories of some great meals here in the old Mansfield’s Restaurant located on the corner of Market St. and 1st Ave., which is shown above in the late 1960’s. In the 1940’s, the restaurant was located on the south-west corner of Market St. and 2nd Ave where the Coca-Cola mural is visible on the wall today. Mansfield’s closed several years ago. Since their closing, many other restaurants have occupied this building. Today, the current restaurant serves authentic Mexican recipes.

Dean I loved eating at Mansfield’s. I worked at the telephone company down the street from there while I was still in high school. I would stop there to eat on my way to work. Mr. and Mrs. Coleman owned it at that time and they were really nice people.

Thanks for sharing. I remember when I was 11 years old, I shined shoes in Tom’s Barber shop. Clayton Fransico and Jr. Ownes were the barbers. At lunch time Jr. would take me to Mansfield’s and we would have the hot open roast beef sandwich. Loved that place.
